Every birthday my children celebrate is special to me. As for Joel’s birthday it carries something else with it. We are overwhelmed with thankfulness that he is here with us and doing well. Today Joel turned 6. I remember the Sunday he was born, I remember listening to Pastor Mike preaching about prayer. I remember 2 huge contractions and thinking that this was the day I would finally meet my Joel. Funny the things we remember.
Joel had a great day celebrating with family.
Joshua and Joel have always been very close, it was very hard on Joshua when Joel was in the hospital and then when Joel came home he was so changed from surgery. Joel only wanted me and it was difficult for Joshua to find his place. It was like losing his best friend. It has been wonderful to watch their relationship come back to what it was.
Joel was thrilled with his gifts. He looked up at my Mom and I and said, “I be the happiest boy in the world.”
Happy Birthday my sweet boy! You have amazed us all over the last year and 1/2 and made us very proud of you. Keep pushing forward!
