    Cheryl and Dave,
You are making great progress! Keep up the good work. Someone once mentioned a strategy to me that makes sense. Before I clean up, I look at the room and see where the mess landed. Then I ask, 1. is it something that needs a home and just gets shuffled from place to place 2. Is it something that needs a space (ie it's where I typically throw my keys,so maybe I can put up a hook there to store them) 3. It is something that I want to discourage people from leaving their stuff (ie don't throw your papers on this desk, so I put a plant there). Basically, I look at the habits and see if I can accommodate them where it makes sense, and change them where they need to be changed. This way, I am not always working against everyone's habits and people find it easier to help to. This process shouldn't take lots of time but it will hopefully keep everything cleaner for longer. I also realize that little guys tend to make mess at random regardless.

I really really appreciate your blog and your open honesty. I have recently completed reading your blog from the the very first post to the most recent and it has been wonderful to see God working through the different chapters of your life!

Thanks Wendy! I love to have a place for everything and everything in its place. Some things were really let go around here after Joel got cancer, but it is time to pull up our bootstraps and move on with our new normal. I agree with looking at a space and figuring out how to solve the issue. There are 4 rooms that I am hoping to add shelving of some sort this year to help with finding homes for things. As our family continues to grow we seem to accumulate more, but I am happy to say I have 2 big garbage bags and 3 boxes of stuff to donate so far and I am only one week into this challenge! Dave and I have enjoyed reconnecting with you Blessings to you and your family!!

Wow!…what a difference. I looked back at your before photos. Having everything clean can just make you feel better, and I know I can think better when it's clean. Great job!
