Bits and Pieces

Busy, busy, busy….

December 22, 2011

Do any of you know that Veggie Tales song, “Busy?”  One of the lines in the song says, “I’m busy busy, dreadfully busy, you have no idea what I have to do.  Busy busy shockingly busy, much much too busy for you.”  Apparently I have been too busy for my blog and I am sorry as I enjoy blogging.

It HAS been really busy, I have been trying to get Christmas presents made for the children, and I have left far too much to the last-minute. I have resolved to do better next year.

For good or bad I am a person who loves to set new goals each New Year and my theme for this year will be organization and I hope it spills over into every area of my life.  Beware, there could be a plethora of organization posts coming your way in the New Year!!!

BIG NEWS!!!  Joel’s MRI scan was clean, no new growth!

Praise GOD!

I don’t worry about a recurrence much but when I am waiting for results it does come to mind a bit.  Usually, Joel’s MRI’s are about 1 hour and 1/2 but this time it was 2 and 1/4 hours long.  Then the next day Joel complained of a headache. ACHHHH!  As far as I am concerned I got my Christmas present early!!

We had a full day today, Joel took the rest of the children to the barn with him (okay I drove) when he delivered Christmas treats to the horses.  He isn’t riding right now but will hopefully have the opportunity again in the spring.  Then we dropped of some Christmas baking at our local police station.  Next, it was off to the hospital for some routine tests and chats with several doctors and of course, our happy news about Joel’s recent scans.  Finally, we ended up at the Candlelighters’ Christmas Party!

Tomorrow we are leaving to spend some time with family over Christmas and I have yet to start packing but I thought I would show you what I have been up to!

I decided to make up little travel bins for the children for in the van with snacks etc. in them.  I have seen an abundance of covered mini clip boards on Pinterest but decided to make full size ones for my guys then they can use full size paper etc.  All of the clipboards I saw were girly but I made a few manly looking ones too. (My guys would not appreciate girly clipboards!)  I also made little drawstring bags to hold these little pencils I found at Michael’s.

So without any further adieu here are their new clip boards.

I am going to put some paper with them in their bins and I am going to give them each a laminated copy of this Vintage Eye Spy game I found online.

When I have a little more time I will post a tutorial for those of you that are not Pinterest addicts.   I hope to post a few more things that I made (and I’m still making 🙁 …) before Christmas but (GASP) my in-laws do not have internet, they don’t even have a computer.  I know I could go to an Internet café but my laptop no longer holds a charge and I have to plug it in… so we will see.

My posts will be rather sporadic until the New Year and I am a little behind on some great book reviews.  I am a bit addicted to books.

There you have it folks, our latest update.
