Tick Tock, that is the sound of time marching along. I have sat down to write more than once and, to be frank, I just didn’t know where to begin. The more time that slid on by, the more overwhelming the idea of trying to catch everyone up on all that has been going on, became.
I looked back through the archives of this blog and it has been over a month since I wrote anything at all and this will mark my 16th post since the 3rd of June. As always I will sing my refrain that we have been busy.
I sit here typing in early evening and the sun is sinking below the horizon earlier and earlier. I am wearing a sweater and I feel it is a wee bit cooler in the house than I wish it to be, but we are a week away from October and I really do not want to turn on the heat just yet. Both are a clear sign, that while I have been clearly neglecting my blog, time has moved on.
Our summer was full of birthdays and growth. It is wonderful to see our children growing and changing. We had a good summer crammed full of memories. Elijah went to Air Cadet camp; Joshua, Joel, and Hannah all went to a VBS camp, and Taliah volunteered at the same camp. We had 22 house guests come and stay with us. Not all at once, various families came and stayed for a few days at a time. It was so fun to open our home up to family and friends. If you didn’t make it here this summer, get in-touch with us, as the door is always open.
A few household and homestead to do’s were checked off the list, but, as always, more seem to remain on the list. As busy as we are I am always amazed at the continually growing to do list. With autumn here already I do not think too many more out-door jobs will be checked off the list.
My head is already leaping ahead, thinking about Christmas and the many projects I need to get busy at if I am to have them ready for Christmas. Did you know, not counting today, but counting Christmas day there are only 92 days till Christmas. There are some of you who will just love me for saying that.
We are also busy trying to fit ourselves into a new rhythm with a new homeschool curriculum. We also took on an intense 9 week therapy-type-course for Joel. All of which has me trying really hard to keep things all straight in my brain as I feel like I am always on constant information over load.
Because I have barely scratched the surface with all that has been going on around here, or because I would love to expound upon some of what I have mentioned over the next while, I am going to post a few catching up posts. So to make things a little less confusing, if it is a current post it will have a regular title, but if it is a ‘Catching-Up’ post it will be labelled as such.
Thanks to those of you who have stuck around and continue to read.
(Pictures in this post are just a smattering from the last few weeks.)
