Spring Reading Thing

Okay, so I am a little behind on this as it started March 20th. We were in the throws of illness at that point, so better late then never. If this interests you then jump on in and have fun!

So the idea is to make a list of books you want to read between March 20th and June 20th, and then get reading. If you are anything like me you have a pile of unread books or worst yet, 5 maybe 10 perhaps more, books that you have read the first 3 pages of and now they are collecting dust. The kids think I should list 10 blank spots for books they want me to read to them as we always have a few read alouds on the go.

I think this is such a great idea. I was once told I suffer from seebookaphillia. Some one who suffers from seebookaphillia sees books and must buy. I do suffer from said disease however I do not see it as an illness to me it is just part of life. (Maybe I am in denial) Here is my list as it stands today. In no particular order;

Reversed Thunder Eugene Peterson (borrowed this book ages ago ashamed I still have it)
Honey For a Child’s Heart Gladys Hunt
Vinegar Boy Alberta Hawse (this might be the first one I read, I just bought it to read to the kids before Easter)
Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends Sarah, Stephen & Grace Mally
The Mom Walk Sally Clarkson
Don’t Make Me Count to Three! Ginger Plowman
Home-Making J.R. Miller
Understanding How Others Misunderstand You Ken Voges & Ron Braund (Seriously)
The 15 Minute Organizer Emilie Barnes
When the Soul Mends Cindy Woodsmall
A Sister’s Secret Wanda Brunstetter
Educating the Wholehearted Child Clay& Sally Clarkson (again I have wanted to reread this one for awhile)

I think I may be adding a few more to my list but this is a good start. So come on join in the fun and pick up a book.

    Your list looks wonderful. I LOVED Gladys Hunt's Honey for a Child's Heart (have you read Honey for a Woman's Heart? It's great, too). And I've seen the Home-Making book on a couple other lists. Must get that one! I'm also intrigued when you say you like buttery popcorn and chocolate together. Do you melt chocolate and put it on the popcorn? Or do you eat chocolate-covered raisins with one hand and popcorn with the other? Sounds good to me 🙂 I've never tried chocolate on popcorn, but would love to hear if you have!

    When I was in high school I went to the movies with one of my friends we couldn’t decided if we wanted m&m’s or popcorn and so we went for both as she was opening the bag it ripped open all at once and fell into our popcorn and it has been something I have liked ever since, any chocolate would do I’m not picky. Thanks for your comment.
