Christmas this year was a little different, we usually travel to visit Dave’s family for Christmas Eve and then my Mom’s extended family on Boxing Day. We decided to stay home this year just in case anything happened with Joel we’d be close to his hospital. Thankfully we had a healthy Christmas!!!!
We wake up and the kids open their stockings and then we get ready for breakfast!
The kids usually get a few fun things in their stockings to hold them over.
My younger guys want to show you everything that is in their stockings Hannah has some candies in her hand.
Joel is showing me that he got some chap-stick!
The bigger kids just dig in to their stockings.
Before breakfast I had to go for a little walk. It was beautiful and cold, the sun was shining and the snow crunched under my feet. Everything had a beautiful coating of frost.
Funny little critter tracks…
This is the handle of our shovel.
I took care of the fruit…
but Dave is the expert apple cinnamon pancake maker.
Mmmmm!
Too Cute!
After breakfast we read the Christmas story in Luke and then the kids get three presents each. A gold, frankincense and myrrh present. Gold is the one gift they really want (within reason), frank is a gift to grow their relationship with God and then myrrh is a bedtime or bath time gift.
Then a little later in the day my brother and my parents came by with more presents!!! Notice my kids are still in their pj’s it was a very relaxed day!!!
At supper we always do Christmas crackers, not something Dave grew up with but I always had them as a kid. I had to snap a few last pictures of the day.
I hope you all had a blessed Christmas… we did!
