Hi
This is probably going to be a short one tonight. It was a busy day, but a good one. Joel did well with waking up from radiation. He had a few of his therapists come by to book times for next week and he was super talkative.
Our roommate, OliviĆ©r, moved to a new floor today. He is now seen as long term care and not surgical, so that is why he had to move. So, we had a new roommate move in, a 16 year old who had, ahh, let’s just say, colourful language. They decided at about 9 o’clock at night that they would move Joel to another room. We were told take our valuables and any thing we need for the night, and I can move the rest in the morning. A little frustrating that after being in that room for a few weeks we get bounced out, and the verbally abusive teen, who has been there a few hours, gets to stay. I understand why it had to be that way. There are no empty rooms available, so if you move him you are just putting him in with some other child. It makes sense to move Joel, as he is more amicable.
Joel had a great evening, they had a magic show here for the kids. Let me tell you, Joel was more entertaining than the show. It was hilarious to watch his face, he was totally amazed by each trick. Too cute.
Tomorrow looks like a busy day… Joel has radiation and I need to move our stuff to our new room. In the afternoon, we are participating in some filming for CHEO’s up coming telethon.
After that Uncle Kyle is picking us up for the weekend. As it is going to be a busy day, I will sign off for now; I will try and post some pictures from the magic show tomorrow.
