Bibliophile or Bookworm?

I am guessing I am both. According to Wikipedia, (I know some would argue not the most reliable) “The classic bibliophile is one who loves to read, admire and collect books, often amassing a large and specialized collection. Bibliophiles do not necessarily want to possess the books they love; an alternative would be to admire them in old libraries. However, the bibliophile is usually an avid book collector, sometimes pursuing scholarship in the collection, sometimes putting form above content with an emphasis on old, rare, or expensive books, first editions, books with special or unusual bindings, autographed copies, etc. As for the bookworm; A bookworm loves books for their content, or otherwise loves reading in general.” (Thank you and credit to Wikipedia)
So here is just some of the evidence. Have I read all of these…No…But many of them I have.
This is my bedside table which is always scattered with reading material and some homeschool things as well.
Some more evidence…
Shamefully that is the pile in front of the computer, yes the family computer that my books and notes and other thingies have overtaken.
Another shelf.
This is the basket that the, ‘most recently taken off the bookshelves books’ end up in.
More books, funny not sure if you can see this or not but Joshua decided to ‘organize’ the middle shelf today notice that almost every book is on the shelf with the spin facing in instead of out. Makes for more of a spontaneous experience when you pick out a book!
This is another little bookshelf by the bed hard to take a picture of.
And yet more books. Now I didn’t take any pictures of the bookshelf in the girls room nor the books in the boys room. Also I have several boxes of books in storage as this is just a temporary living arrangement. I don’t think I will ever feel like the family library is complete after all there are so many classics and there are books being published constantly. I know you could have a vast library on ones computer and I do have a large number of ebooks too, but there is something wonderful about curling up with a book. There is the smell of the book the feel of its pages I don’t know there is just something special about books.
So are you a Bibliophile or Bookworm? or both? Leave me a comment I’d love to know if there are more of us out there. 🙂

Grrr…I think now that I am reading these lovely descriptions that you found on wikip. that I am a bit of both…maybe swaying towards the bookworm in my old age. I just don't have the space to collect so much anymore and am becoming a very practical person. I do love to give my books away though~even if it's just to Value Village because I think then that one of my books could reach someone who really needs to read it in that moment! I am reading Mr. Pip right now for my book club~yep Corrie and I have belonged to a local book club for a couple of years now. Corrie also belongs to the youth book club at Indigo. Both kids read tonnes and we all share our favourites with each other. I still have all of our childhood favourites and we actually still read them at times! Books are so great!!!!

I think I'm just a home school mom! and was miffed that even while looking at the larger version of your pictures I couldn't read enough of the titles to decide if I could take some of those off your hands for a year or two! We were talking as mom's the other day about how we could rotate our various collections and help save each other some money. Any ideas?
